Cell Phones and Cameras

Cell phone camera use and camera use is not permitted in any areas of the Field House without permission of the Yates Staff. 

Children

Children 5 years of age and older will be considered dependents (see membership eligibility).  We will make ID cards for all children.  Just as with adults, these ID cards must be presented at the entrance desk on each visit.

No one under the age of 13 will be allowed to enter or remain in the Field House unless accompanied by an adult. Children wishing to use the pool unaccompanied must pass a swim test administered by a Yates lifeguard before they will be allowed in the pool.

Children under the age of 15 are not allowed on treadmills, steppers, etc. or any equipment in the weight are of the Field House.  It is inappropriate and dangerous to bring children into the weight area.

Children must be supervised at all times whaile in the Field House.

Children over the age of 3 must use the appropriate locker room.  Yates personnel will take the child into the appropriate locker room if the child is accompanied to Yates by an individual of the opposite sex.

Strollers and baby carriers are not allowed on the Main Floor or pool deck.

Members having trouble finding someone to watch their children can try calling the Georgetown Babysitting Service at (202)687-4187.

First Aid

Anyone injured in the Field House should immediately notify the Field House Staff, or have someone notify the Yates Staff.  The staff member will evaluate the situation and call the Department of Protective Services, GERMS, and an ambulance if necessary.

Food

Vending machines are located in the lower lobby.  Food and beverages, other than water, are not allowed in the activity areas, locker rooms or pool area.  Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the Field House, on the sundeck outside the pool, the patio off the main lobby, or on Kehoe Field.

Guest Policy

Georgetown University grants Yates Field House members the privilege of bringing guests into the Field House.  Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests and must accompany their guest at all times when using Field House facilities.  The general welfare of the University community is best served by each member taking the time to familiarize guests with the Field House Policies and Procedures.  A member's failure to accept this responsibility will lead to suspension or revocation of membership privieges.  For security reasons all guests must present a photo ID before being allowed into the building

Guest fees are $5 for guests of students and $10 for guests of non-student members. 

Members who wish to bring guests must obtain a guest pass in the main office, or by phone with a credit card by calling (202)687-2400 during normal office hours of operation.  Members may purchase up to 5 guest passes in advance, which may be used at any time, with a maximum of 3 guests per visit.  All guests entering the Field House must have a guest pass.  This pass in hand policy will be strictly enforced.

Members may bring in a maximum of 3 guests per day.  Members must be 15 years of age to sponsor a guest.  Members cannot bring in, as their guests, any type of private instructor or trainer. 

Guest fees are entrance fees and do not include locks, towels, or other amenities.  Guests are encouraged to bring a lock to use on any available day locker.  To control overcrowding, Yates management reserves the right to limit the number of guests each day.

Georgetown University Law School students may bring up to three guests for general usage without advanced purchase.  These guests must pay the guest fee in the main office upon entrance.

Alumni visiting from outside the DC Metroplitan area (DC and the contiguous Maryland and Virginia counties) can use Yates by presenting a GU alumni ID card or other proof of alumni status, and paying  the $10 guest fee.  These "Out of Town" alumni visitors may bring up to 3 guests for general usage. Alumni who live in the DC metroplitan area may purchase yearly memberships.

Please do not bring in, as your guests, individuals who are loitering outside Yates.

Lost and Found

Found valuables are kept in the main office for a week and then turned over to the Department of Protective Services (DPS). Found clothing items are kept for a week and then washed and donated to homeless shelters.

Pets

Pets are not allowed in the Field House or on any of the athletic fields.  Pets tied or chained up outside Yates will be reported to the Department of Protective Services, who will see to their removal.
