Eligibility and Rostering
Eligibility
Participation in Georgetown Intramurals is limited to the following groups:
Undergraduate Students
Graduate Students
Faculty & Staff
Yates Field House members
All participants must present a valid Georgetown or Med School ID in order to participate in any intramural event. Guests and non-Georgetown students are prohibited from intramural participation.
Yates Field House Membership
Intramural participants MUST be valid Yates Field House members in order to participate in any events occurring in the Field House. For students, a certain credit-load minimum must be met to maintain automatic membership and eligibility for intramurals. This credit minimum is as follows:
Undergraduates: 12 credit minimum
Grad Students: 9 credit minimum (credits from thesis-work do not apply to this total)
Part-time students who do NOT qualify for automatic Yates membership are NOT eligible for intramural participation. These students must renew their Yates membership in order to compete in intramural events.
Varsity & Club Sport Athletes
Varsity athletes are NOT eligible to compete in intramural events that correspond to their varsity sport (example -- varsity baseball players may not compete in intramural softball). A 'varsity athlete' shall be defined as any student who practices with or is rostered on a varsity team. This includes redshirt athletes.
Restrictions regarding club sport athletes and intramural participation will be addressed on a sport-by-sport basis and will be handled at the discretion of the intramural directors.
Roster Guidelines
Participants must be appropriately rostered in order to participate in any intramural event. In order to be added to a roster, players must register online through the GU Intramurals section of www.teamsportsinfo.com. Players will not be allowed to compete unless they appear on a roster and check-in with a valid Georgetown ID.
IMPORTANT NOTE -- All roster additions must be completed by 5:00pm on game-day when scoresheets are printed. Additions made beyond this time will not be available until the following day.
For team events, rostering is limited for each gender as follows:
MEN: Any male may participate in one (1) Open team and one (1) Coed team. Men may not participate in multiple Open or Coed teams -- doing so will result in a forfeit for the team in question and may result in removal from the event.
WOMEN: Any female may participate in one (1) Coed team and one (1) Open/Womens team. Women that choose to participate with an Open team may NOT also compete with a Womens team, and vice-versa. Women may not participate in multiple Open/Womens or Coed teams -- doing so will result in a forfeit for the team in question and may result in removal from the event.
Roster Deadline
Roster additions must be completed prior to the start of the playoffs for each event. The IM Directors will communicate with team captains regarding specific roster deadlines for each event. Once the deadline has passed, roster additions will no longer be allowed. The use of ineligible players in the playoffs will result in immediate forfeiture and removal from play.
