Junior tennis classes

Junior Tennis Classes at Yates

All classes enable each player to train and work on their tennis skills in a structured environment with players of similar ability.  Each class has a minimum of three-players and maximum of six.  If you are unsure of which class to enroll your child in, please contact Kathleen Collins-Bell.

If space available we offer a drop in fee.

July Clinics 

  Beginner/Advance Beginner -

Saturdays, 3;00-4:00pm.  This class is for junior  who are new to tennis or have taken some lessons.  Each class gives instruction focusing on developing excellent technique for ground strokes, serve and volley.  There are a lot of drills performed to help develop good form and technique.

Low Intermediate/Intermediate Player -

 Saturdays, 4:00-5;00pm .  This class is for juniors who have taken private or group lessons.  This class focuses on the development of ground strokes, serve and volleys.  There is an emphasis on placement and accuracy.

 Advance Player

 Saturdays,  5;00-6;00pm.  This class is for juniors who have solid technical skills and are able to be consistent in their shot making.  Each class focuses on specific drills for ground strokes, serve and volley.  The class works on control and depth of ground strokes, power and accuracy on the serve, and placement on the volleys.

 Pre-Tournament Workout

Ages 9-13

Sundays, 3;00-4;30pm.  This class is for juniors who know all the strokes and have begun competing in matches.  Each class starts with stretching and light running before hittiing.  In this class we fine tune the player's skills in the ground strokes, serve and volleys, and work on stroke improvement and increasing strength and speed.

 Pee Wee Tennis
Ages 4-6

Monday-Thursday, 3-4pm.  
A fun introduction to tennis for children.  The class focuses in learning tennis through drills and games.

This class introduces the skills needed to play tennis.  Emphasis is on development of good techniques.
